This photo was taken at the Lake Orion Veteran Memorial and is a photo of the Peacoat Monument that was created by Joe Zikewich a WWII veteran. Mr Zikewich served on the aircraft carrier USS Lexington and created the monument and dedicated it to all military personnel from all branches of service who have made the supreme sacrifice by giving their lives for this great country and are buried beneath the oceans and seas around the world.

I cannot visit the memorial with out it affecting me emotionally and so I wanted to do my very best to capture this emotion in one of my photos. Here is my humble attempt.
It is my goal to honor all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and to all those other who have served and are now serving.
